My daughter's eyes

by KatiesMomKC March 10, 2008

Here I am getting ready for a dance wit my Daddy!!!!

Since our familiy is a one income family (mine) and most of our money goes for doctors bills we have a limited budget. Our daughter has severe asthma, ADHD & OCD. So all year we save for a Branson trip. It is only 4 hours away from Kansas City and I have become an expert on coupons and discounts. Katie thinks that this is heaven as she always meets different people as she just loves to make new friends. The show down there are family friendly and she has gotten up on stage to dance with some of the performers and including Charley Pride. He brought her up on stage and you would have thought she was a princess as he was singing to her. He eyes changed at that point and they sparkled like stars. Because of her issues, she cannot sit still but when she hears music she can. This is why we would like her to have guitar lessons some day.

Each year she (and us also) have to give up more and more possessions to go on these vacations. We always take a cooler and only eat out once or twice. Most of the time eating sandwiches and chips in our room. She always talks about going to Disney one day, and she is saving up. So far she has about $26. Whenever we talk about buying things she always says no because we are saving for Disney.
