A Walt Disney Pictures presents..... Moment

by jaggernmom  March 30, 2008

My son Jagger is 5 and has Autism. Jaggers repetitive behavior a part of his diagnosis is talking about Disney movies, singing Disney songs, ing lines from Disney movies and saying "Walt Disney Pictures presents..." br/br/One evening, while on vacation, we went to a fundraiser with friends. I was returning from the ladies room and the acapella choir was preparing to sing when Jagger stood up, ran to a microphone and shouted at the top of his lungs "Walt Disney Pictures presents - The Lion King" and proceeded to sing the song "The Circle of Life" "La Sevenya" as he calls it.br/br/I stood rooted in the doorway. I did not know whether to hug him for being so brave or cry for joy as so many professionals had said my son would never speak let alone interact in a social setting. My dreams came true that night, watching my little man up on stage belting out his song like a pro!! br/br/ I know the most important phrase he has ever learned was from watching The Wiggles on Playhouse Disney which is "Anythings Possible" and this memory has made a believer out of me.br/
