Surprise!

by kostrach  March 09, 2008

What a Wedding!

When our children were younger, we went on our annual Disney trip in October, taking them out of school for a few days and enjoying the lighter crowds. One year, though, we decided to take a spring trip and surprise the children. I told them we were going to Nashville for a wedding and even wrapped a large box with wedding paper. I put the box on top of our fridge and pretended that it was very heavy and almost dropped it. I gave stern warnings about being careful around the package because it was VERY expensive. The big day arrived, and the children were not so excited about going to a wedding, but loaded themselves and their things into our van. The last thing we were loading was the "gift" which I promptly dropped on the garage floor, crying out and asking our oldest to open it and see if it were broken, as I just couldnt do it myself. He opened the package and disney balloons filled with helium floated out with a note tied to them that said "Surprise - Were going to Disneyworld!" He was so very excited, but I dont think they really believed it until we drove onto Disney property and saw the famous water tower.
