Drum Corps International

by gtrodgers1 March 11, 2008

1988 Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps member

When I was a junior in high school, my parents decided that we would drive to Kansas City, KS, for the 1988 Drum Corps International Finals! My brother and I were estatic! We had been to Allentown, PA for the regional shows, but had never been to a finals week. We took the family conversion van from Winchester, VA to Kansas City, in two days. When we arrived we were able to attend the DCI parade and a few events. It was one of the most thrilling experiences to watch the corps perform with over 30,000 people to cheer them on. I was one of those people!

I'll always appreciate my parents for taking us! We had so much fun that year, we went back again in 1989!!
