Favorite Vacation Moment

It was meant to be a beach vacation, but the rain got in the way!

First cousins, large and small

Oh boy! My brothers planned an extended family vacation at a beautiful beach house overlooking Lake Michigan with a view of the Chicago skyline. Twenty family members, ranging in age from 3 to 80 years, enjoyed dinner on the deck while watching the sunset. We had one more beautiful day to walk the beach and build sandcastles. By the third day, we awoke to heavy rain and the coldest August in 100 years! Not to be deterred, the kids began playing card games and ended up having a wonderful time. Although this trip also involved mice in the downstairs bedroom, stopped up toilets and a case of fifth disease, all family members recall it fondly as time well spent together. The attached photo is a favorite of the kids and a reminder of memories shared at "The Beach House."
