Overcoming the fear of my life! And what a blast!

I have an extreme fear of heights, I was always trying so hard not to discourage my own children because of my fear. When they climbed to the top of the playground equipment, I was just screaming inside. My family wanted to go zip lining in Hawaii while we were there. I was so afraid and thought I would not be able to do it. As they employees helped me with my helmet and harness, my knees were becoming weak. I was in a group so it wasnt easy being a chicken with everyone so ready and willing! As they are giving us the instructions, I turned to my husband and said I cant do this. He said yes you can, you really can. My daughter looked at me and said Mom you can do this! I was so scared climbing up the platform and preparing to take off over a 240 foot ravine with a river and jungle below me. As I got across, it was beautiful, I could see everywhere. The landscape and hillside was gorgeous. Sooner than I knew it, I was across. That was fun! I didnt look down very often and when we finished the last line, I was really sad to see it come to an end! It was a great day! I am still afraid of heights, but now I know I have it in me to overcome!
