Sisters

On the beach <3
As a family we have visited far more exotic places. Traveling to Pensacola was exciting in that we were simply getting away from the city. We didn't have any major plans other than to enjoy being away. As usual I wasn't surprised to find out that I would be sharing a room with my sister in our apartment style condo overlooking the beach; I almost expected it. Of course I love my sister, but I could only imagine the petty arguments that would occur on an hourly basis about something as simple as sleeping with the blinds open, or shut.
Something was definitely in the cold air that blew during that chilly Spring Break of 2007. As the chill of the air drew my sister and me closer in proximity to keep warm, it also brought us closer as siblings. I can't pinpoint specific events that lead to this change in character for both of us, but Iâ¬"m glad it did. I think our parents were both amazed to see us actually being nice to each other, behavior only seen on television or read about in books.
Our relationship hasn't changed much. We are sisters so by nature there will always be some arguing. Our relationship has evolved from siblings, to sisters to best friends. I'm glad that we've come full circle.
I wiggled my toes in the sand, my knees knocking as the chilly air whipped around my legs. The beach was empty except for my family and the men who worked for our Condo. I looked over at my sister, the only one with sense enough to wear pants in this weather. She was bending down looking for shells to bring back home. I walked over and told her I knew where we could find some really pretty ones. With that, we set off for the shore to look for them together; sisters.
