Reach for the stars!!!

Life's a vacation!!!

Well, we were on the Disney Wonder, and my 4 year old daughter and I were worn out from the long day in Nassau. We decided to nap, while my sister and 8 year old went to do some onboard activities. I was obviously tired because I was startled awake by a loud knocking on the stateroom door. Alarmed, I jumped up (not looking in the mirror) and opened the door only to see my 4 year old with a cabin steward who looked even more frightened than I did. She had apparently woke up and decided to look around, but her shirt got stuck in the door (which automaticly locks) I was mortified. I took my daughter and went directly to find my sister and other child after the fright of my life. We were on deck 6, so we had to walk down the corridor, to the elevators and up to deck 10. Everywhere we went people were staring, or smiling. Chalking this up to "cruise friendly" people I continued to storm after my sister. In the elevator I was getting open mouth stares from 3 little boys whose mother was quietly but obviously staring them down to keep quiet about SOMETHING. Next, the staff cleaning the deck was staring and I started to feel a little self concious as in my hurry to leave the room, i did not attend to hair, makeup, etc. I continue my stomp across the ship when the wind blew and in a movement to move my hair back into the hastily done clip, I felt it...No, I felt THEM. One entire sheet of red, gold, green, blue and silver stars plastered across my entire face courtesy of my 4 year old, while I was in a dead sleep. I cannot describe the embarrassment felt at having to peel of at least 50 stickers after walking by and smiling to maybe 50 people oblivious to my "star facial". I was floored and when I asked my daughter, she just said that they "looked pretty". As if that was noit enough, each little star left a mark as I am apparantly mildly allergig to the acid in the glue. So for about 3 hours of cool washcloths I had "star shaped welts" and had to forfeight all evening activities. Needless to say, that is absolutely the most memorable vacation moment, hands down. The children certainly thought it the best, I will stick to "memorable". I will brave it again in May, and this time I am putting a special request to the staff of the Disney Wonder. No Stickers!!!!!!!!!
