Lovely Moment In Time

My mother is still mad at me from leaving her alone on the ship. On our family vacation, we decided to go to the Bahamas. We didn't fly (although we did actually fly to Orlando along the way) but we went on the next best thing since sliced bread; a cruise. The fact that I could sail across the ocean on a boat was phenomenal. Since this was our first ever family vacation, I was ecstatic. Our journey there was full of my excitement especially on the plane. I had my survival kit which included a notebook, colored pencils, markers, CD player, tons of CDs, a couple of snacks, and a book. Soon after, we got off the plane and made our way to Royal Caribbean International. After we made our way to the ship entrance, we had to make a quick stop to the restroom. While my mother touched up her makeup, I asked, "How long are we going to be on this ship?" My mother uttered gently, "For about a week."
We continued to walk towards the entrance and were abruptly stopped with a man shouting â¬Ssmileâ¬ý with a camera in his hand. There seemed to be millions of people in a line waiting on this camera man. Once our turn was up, we posed and I held on tightly to my mother as if she were going to float away. She was all I had and it was a great feeling of pleasure going on our first family vacation together. We boarded the ship and soon after, the water began to look as if it were running away from us. The ship was so big and to my surprise there were plenty of children on it. As active as I was, I refused to hang with my mother and instead hung out with some kids I didn't even know. For seven whole days, I was living life on my own, with the help of cruise staff. My mother was all alone on this big ship and angry that I wasn't with her.
Our ship had finally reached the Bahamas and we quickly exited. My mother and I did some shopping and bought some lovely things. She bought some maracas, straw bags, and some good cuisine. We spent the whole entire day there and were sad that we had to leave. Once we got back on board, my mom and I sat down and talked about our time on the vacation. She told me that she hated the fact that I had left her by herself so I made a promise. I told her, â¬SI am sorry for leaving you by yourself. It wonâ¬"t ever happen again.â¬ý From that moment on my mother and I made a promise that we would never leave one another on the next vacations that we had.
