ROAD TRIP
Since we just had our first child and have not yet vacationed with her, our favorite vacation was back in October 2002 when it was just the two of us. It was our first anniversary together as a couple and we decided to rent a car and drive up the east coast until we got to a state where it was snowing. I had never seen snow and my husband was amazed by that fact. We planned this trip in a day, packed our bags and headed north. We took pictures of every welcome sign in each state we entered. We stayed in North Carolina for a few days because the weather said it was suppossed to snow. It didnt. So we hopped in the car and kept going. We spent the night in D.C and walked all over. It was beautiful except for the rats near the ladies room by the Lincoln Memorial! I cant say the same about the ONLY hotel we found...we literally took turns staying up by the window and looking down at our car to make sure our stuff was still there. We ended up in West Virginia and decided to try and find his relatives...what a bad idea. We got lost in the mountains, never found his relatives, got told the wrong directions by mountaineers and it was getting dark so we had to leave. I dint want to be one of those cars over the cliff especially since our cell phones had no range. I remember telling my husband this has been fun but it has been a week now and no snow, lets just head home. Then it happened, like magic, it starting snowing!!! I couldnt believe it!! We were in Pennsylvania and it just so happened we were by a ski resort! We found a hotel close by, built snowmen outside, threw snowballs at each other and I went innertubing down a mountain for the first time!! I will never forget my first time going down I screamed like a child. When I got down my husband said to me did you hear that little girl screaming? I said to him that was no little girl, that was me!! It was such a beautiful and memorable vacation. On our way back to Florida we went down the middle of the U.S so we could stop and see different scenery. Even though it took a week and a half my husband was soo determined for me to see snow and thats exactly what we did. I cant wait to see what he has in store for us now especially since we have added to our family!!!
