Vacationing in My Own Backyard

"Introductions"

My fondest "first" family vacation occurred right in my own backyard, so to speak. My husband and I were thrilled when I gave birth to our son, Ryan. Ryan was so excited that he decided to join our family about 6 weeks early. Although he was very healthy and happy, the doctors didn't want us to venture out in public for a long while.

After 3 1/2 months of a very long winter hibernation, we were ready to get out and explore -- and what better time then during the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC. We're very fortunate to live so close to the nation's capital!

It was a wonderful time for us to be enjoying both the new life that spring brings and the new life that we brought into the world.
