Where's the Beluga?

As our family has grown larger and our budget for vacations smaller, our vacations have evolved from week-long, fun-in-the sun adventures, to two-day excursions to more local destinations. Our favorite â¬Sminiâ¬ý vacation last year was our trip to Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, CT. This was the first trip for all of us and it was truly wonderful! The outdoor walkways meander through diverse outdoor habitats featuring both familiar and exotic water faring wildlife. Our older boys loved climbing into these â¬Stunnelsâ¬ý shown in the photo, and waiting for the Beluga whales to swim by. Many of the indoor exhibits were located at child-friendly heights and offered hands-on activities. The boys talked about the aquarium for months after our visit and we will certainly be returning again this year!
