All I Need Is My Surf Board!

We usually do not take big vacations because well that takes alot of saving, but we have been lucky to have my husband as a truckdriver. He travels all over the states, every summer the kids and I pack up and hit the road with him for a week or two. Last year, we road up to New York City with him. New York City was exciting, we did get to see the Statue of Liberty and Yankee Stadium from far away of course, but we can actually say been there, seen it. Along the way stopping in each state to catch a glimpse of nature. Our favorite time and moment would have to be when we layed over in Connecticut, with the luxury of my husbands big semi truck, we had room and board. We decided to hit the beach. We are from South Texas and we have never been to the Texas coast and here we were in Connecticut on their coast. My kids loved it. They were so excited, this was a real vacation for them. My daughter walked along side the beach collecting sea shells for her friends, my son pretending to surf, throwing himself in the sand. We even buried him in it for fun. It was such a memorable vacation for all of us, because for us that there is real vacation away from home.
