Favorite Vacation Moment

An impulse getaway with just my boys to Monterey and Cannery Row.

My boys and I enjoying the sun.

I had been very overwhelmed and stressed out at work. I needed a break and fast. I could tell the boys, 4 and 6, were feeling Mommy's stress. I called in to work and picked the boys up from school early. We were headed on a road trip. They were so excited. I immediately felt the weight of a million men lifted off my shoulders. We had a nice peaceful two hour drive. I had booked a room online earlier that morning. The boys love the fact that we were in a "Hotel". They were so jazzed. We checked in and got a couple of tourist-y brochures. We strolled along Cannery Row and stopped in all of the little bitty shops, even the homemade candy ones. Yeah! We were only there one night but it relaxed us all as if it were an entire week. A huge dose of just me and my boys is exactly what the doctor ordered!
