Mule Riding with the Brinton Family

One of our favorite family vacations was to the Grand Canyon in Arizona. We had scheduled the mule ride down into the canyon the year before. We also participated in the scenic bus tours of the canyon. We had an absolute fantastic time. What an adventure!! We were so scared to do the mule ride once we had arrived at the canyon, but once we got going, it was a piece of cake. What a breathtaking view of the canyon we had. It was amazing!! It was unforgettable!! We had went at the end of June and boy was it hot. Once we had arrived at the bottom, the temperature gage they have set up read 108 degrees. Wow!! But we kept cooled down along with our mules who trek down to the bottom every third day, we learned. We had boxed lunches packed in our saddlebags and we ate at the small shady oasis at the bottom of the canyon. Just seeing the canyon in all of its breathtaking beauty from the dusty trails downward to the beautiful oasis at the bottom to the raging Colorado River was a sight to see. We will always remember our wonderful adventure out west and the beauty of it all will always be sweet memories in our hearts!!
