On the Road: Snack Tips

From our provider: FamilyFun

Cool It
Whether you use a cooler, an insulated bag or box, or Tupperware, here's how to keep snacks cool without messy, melting ice: Add frozen juice boxes; make sandwiches on frozen bread; pack some frozen grapes; include a smoothie frozen in a tightly sealed container; use sealed ice packs.

A Good Egg
Hard-boiled eggs are a perfect road food if you peel them first, wrap them in plastic, and chill them. Here's a foolproof recipe: Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes (add 2 minutes if eggs are straight from the fridge). Plunge eggs into cold water. Keep in the cooler or eat within two hours.
