Conversation Starters
Time on the road offers families the perfect opportunity to reconnect by having conversations that don't revolve around car pools, chores, or eating all your vegetables. If you have trouble switching conversational gears, try asking your kids these questions or similar variations. You can give them the wheel sometimes, too, letting them ask you probing queries! Or you can turn this less-than-idle chat into a game by writing questions on slips of paper, placing them in a hat, and passing the hat the question you pick out is the one you must answer, honestly. Make your queries silly or serious, but be sure they cannot be answered by just saying yes or no.
