This roller-coaster ride through inky darkness is the primary scream-ripper in the Magic Kingdom. The cars go at a fairly tame speed and there are no inversions, but the blackness makes it impossible to anticipate the turns and dips.

Age Group: Designed for older kids and teens

Height Restriction: 44 inches, and kids under 7 must have an adult ride with them

Fastpass: Yes

Thrill factor for ages 2-4: No stars. Most will not pass height requirement.

Thrill factor for ages 5-7: One star. Only for the boldest in this age group.

Thrill factor for ages 8-11: Three stars. Many kids in this age group named Space Mountain as their favorite Magic Kingdom attraction.

Thrill factor for ages 12 and up: Three stars. Many kids in this age group named Space Mountain as their favorite Magic Kingdom attraction.

Insider's Tip: Ride in the morning and then get a Fastpass so you can return later and ride with a minimal wait.
