#7: Vikingsholm at Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe, NV

Lake Tahoe

As if the incredible views of tourmaline-blue Lake Tahoe weren't enough, kids will love a visit to a real "castle," in a trek to Vikingsholm, built in 1928 as a summer residence, in a genuinely Scandinavian design. A short, less-than-two-mile hike from the parking area make this an ideal jaunt for younger kids, who will love the dragon carvings. Trails leading from the property to the beach make this a pleasant place to wile away an afternoon.

Yeah, I nearly gagged when I saw Stockyards was in "Dallas". No, it is in Fort Worth, which is a great city with a fabulous zoo, great downtown shopping and dining, wonderful museum of history and science. Dallas has a totally different vibe than Fort Worth. But both cities have something great to offer families. Disney needs to edit the site for accuracy.

This is in Fort Worth, NOT Dallas! And it's a great time!
