Cruise Planning Part II: Seven Questions to Launch Your Trip
#2 of 7: When Can You Go & Should the Kids Miss School?
- During the fall (September through mid-November) and early winter months (mid-January to February), the prices go down, but to take advantage of that, you might have to take the kids out of school.
- If you decide to travel during your children's school vacations (Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break and the summer months) the price goes up considerably, as do the crowds, but you don't have to take them out of school.
- Also, keep in mind the Caribbean's fall hurricane season, the short summer window in which ships can travel to Alaska and the heat of the Mediterranean in the summer.
