Hello, Mr. President: A Patriotic Tour
With President's Day approaching, check out these 10 places — from sea to shining sea — that honor America's 44 past and current commanders-in-chief.
#1 of 10: Disneyland® Park, Anaheim, California
Disneyland might seem like an odd spot to find a president, but, in 1955, an actor named Ronald Reagan co-hosted Dateline: Disneyland, which brought the Anaheim theme park's opening day to the world. Reagan returned in 1990 as a former president to rededicate the park on its 35th anniversary. Since it opened, on July 17, 1955, Disneyland has played host to many presidents and their families, including Richard M. Nixon — who helped dedicated the Monorail when he was vice-president in 1959; Dwight Eisenhower, who took a ride on the Mine Train Thru Nature's Wonderland during his visit in 1961; and Harry S Truman, who, the story goes, rode every attraction in the park when he visited in 1957 except one: Dumbo.
