A Travel Scrapbook

This suitcase-style scrapbook is just right for your child to pack with mementos of his vacation adventures — and it's a cinch to make.

Start with two cardboard report covers. Use one for the suitcase itself and one to cut out two U-shaped handles and two 11/2- by 18-inch straps.

Attach one handle to the front of the suitcase by gluing the ends to the inside of the upper edge. Match up the second handle with the first one and glue it to the back side. Now close the suitcase and glue on the straps.

Position the strap tops on the front of the suitcase 1 inch down from the upper edge, then wrap the straps around the back of the suitcase. Finally, fold down the strap ends so that they overlap the tops and attach stick-on Velcro-type fasteners.

For a handy photo pocket, glue a large open envelope to the inner cover, as shown. Then, fill the suitcase with manila folders for storing ticket stubs, brochures, and other souvenirs.
