You might want to bring a radio, Walkman, and iPod to the beach. I love listening to great music at the beach. Don't forget to charge the iPod before you leave, and be sure to bring extra batteries for the radio and Walkman.

I like to freeze bottles of water (not all the way full, of course!). If it's hot enough, the ice will melt and we'll have cold water to drink all day.

I like bringing fresh fruit along with water to keep us hydrated, and nothing tastes better that cold fruit on a hot summer day!

I think a big beach umbrella is essential- it gets too hot baking in the full-on sun for kids.

My little ones are so very pale that we go a step further than sunscreen and use rashgaurds for added protection!

Be sure to slather on that sunscreen before you hit the beach so that it has time to sink in, then reapply after swimming.
