I bought used (but like new) Guitar Hero I and II for ps2 -- both with guitars -- for less than it would have cost to buy the new version. The kids didn't care a bit that they didn't have the latest version...and they love the multiplayer option and pretend they are both in the same band.

I was going to pick up Mario Galaxy for my Nephew's but am now thinking about getting them a Gamefly gift certificate to rent games. Not sure what games they like, so this way I'm covered.

A friend brought "Guitar Hero 3" for the Xbox 360 over my house, and my 7-year-old son is obsessed! Not sure if that's a good or bad thing, but it's definitely a desirable gift!
