You've got diapers, wipes, creams, bottles, toys, snacks, keys, all kinds of stuff to lug around. The least you can do, as long as you're lugging, is look fantastic while doing it! Here are our picks of five diaper bags that have the right combination of great style and solid functionality.

kate bowler

  1. The Kate Bowler from Caden Lane

  2. This versatile and stylish design comes in chocolate with pink trim, with a coordinated polka dot interior lining. It's got plenty of room for storage, including six exterior pockets and three inside. It's a great bag for stroller-hanging and you may just want to use it everywhere you go, from the gym to the doctor's office to the airplane. The waterproof interior is equipped with spoon loops to hold baby's utensils in one place. Also included is a removable bottle insulator, coordinated 5"x7" zipper sack and roll-up changing pad.

  3. The Boxy Backpack from Petunia Pickle Bottom

  4. Other moms may get diaper-bag envy when you carry Petunia Pickle Bottom's backpack style in one of its rich brocade fabric designs, shown here in an olive and turquoise print inspired by peacock feathers, dubbed Peacock Paradise Roll. This generous pack includes four bottle pockets, water-resistant liner, a detachable pouch for dirty diapers, a built-in changing station with detachable pad and comes with a black case for wipes.

    boxy backpack

  5. The Jamie bag from StorkSak

  6. This sophisticated, streamlined leather bag is unisex, but it's especially appealing as a handsome accessory for dads. The functionality is all there: space for diapers, bottles, and wipes, but this thermo-insulated, messenger-style bag is as chic as it gets; in fact, Brad Pitt is said to use one to tote his own kids' gear around. It comes equipped with a padded changing mat, waterproof interior, phone, pen, and key holders and is roomy enough to fit most laptops. Shown in espresso pebble cowhide leather; also available in black.

    Dimensions: H14" X W12" X D4"
    Retail price: $198

    mothership

  7. The Mothership from Fleurville

  8. Besides the fantastic selection of funky colors and patterns available in these bags, the waterproof, wipeable surfaces are a real draw for moms. The Mothership is generously proportioned, with a multitude of pockets and compartments for bottles, keys, toys, and any other gear you might want to toss inside. Like each of Fleurville's diaper bags, this one comes with a see-through wipes case and a changing mat. Its thick shoulder strap makes it comfortable to carry. If this one's a little too large for you, try the equally appealing Sling Tote model (we love this one in Floral Sky). Mothership shown in Yellow Seedpod/Green-LAM (TM).

    Dimensions: H12" x W14.5" x D5"
    Retail price: $150

Lexie Barnes' Superstar lets hipster moms tote all the gear they need in a lightweight, well-equipped courier bag style featuring plenty of pockets (five interior, three exterior), plus a hidden key or phone pocket. Available in a variety of pretty, waterproof prints, it comes with a black changing pad. Moms especially love the mesh side pockets which make it simple to pop in bottle, water bottle, toys or snacks for easy access. Shown in Viona.

Family 5: Our Favorite Diaper Bags

While these bags are very cute and I wouldn't mind having one, their ridiculous price tags are not cute. I have three children and I've gone through several less expensive diaper bags, mainly because we use them so much and they get worn out. It's also nice to be able to change the look of your diaper bag from time to time, like you would a purse, and most people can't afford to do that if they're spending $150 or more on a diaper bag. Kuddos to you thrifty moms out there!

I seen the topic "favorite diaper bags"-and because I love my bag I had to see if my bag was listed...I have the Petunia Pickle Bottom Back Pack and I LOVE IT! It is so functional and the clips to strap on to the stroller are awesome! I received a Coach babybag for Mother's day from my hubby and I feel like it was a total waist- I definitely suggest Petunia Picke Bottoms for new mommies :)
