Description
Description: Preston is made entirely out of the County Press newspaper (with the exception of google eyes), so we call him "Press"ton. If you look close, youll see that he is actually made out of little pieces of newspaper. To make Preston, I first cut an old newspaper into 362 rectangles of equal size, and then folded each one of them into little triangles. These triangles then have to simply be put together in different shapes. Preston is my first project of this kind, so Im not taking him apart, but the triangles are all re-usable. It easy and fun to make, it just takes time to cut and fold all of the paper.
Materials
Old newspaper and google eyes
How to Make
The first step was to cut the newspaper into squares.
Each square is folded into a triangle. 362 triangles of equal size are required.
Each triangle is nested into another and gradually built onto until the shape begins. Add eyes, a triangle beak and some cut out feet.
Tips for Taking a Great Photo:
- Avoid clutter. Keep the background simple -- your gingerbread house or holiday cookie is the star!
- Daytime, natural light is best. If your area is bright enough, try taking the photo without the flash.
- Upload a horizontal photo. If you crop the image on your computer, make sure you keep a landscape 4:3 aspect ratio.
- For best results, make your image 1200x900 (or "save for web").
- With a digital camera, you can take as many photos as possible and choose the best one. Have fun!
