I turned 50 in January 2009. I've been having a very hard time facing the fact that I am a half century old. My family had a very rough 2008, our finances are in a total state of disaster, so I didn't have much to look forward to, for my 50th birthday "celebration". That is, until Disney announced that they were giving free admission to the WDW park of your choice on your birthday in 2009! My husband had to work, but I took my daughter out of school and we drove to Orlando and went to Epcot (my favorite park) for the day. It was a wonderful birthday! I didn't feel a half century old and spending it with Mickey and pals, Soarin' through California...traveling to Mars on Mission Space...going through history in Spaceship Earth, breaking speed records on Test Track, taking a journey with Nemo and being shrunk to the size of an ant during Honey I Shrunk the Audience made my 50th birthday one that I WANT to remember!
Thank you, Disney, for giving me something SO special during a not-so-great time in my life. It really meant a lot to me and gave me some special memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
