My baby didn't want me to stay and walk her to class. Should I feel bad? Why do I?
I know. It's just that she's getting so independent to me what seems so quickly! For example ... on Saturdays when I don't have her because I have to work, there are times that I call to check on her and she blatantly says that she doesn't want the phone. When she's told that I, her mother, is on the phone she'll still say No. I ask later on why she didn't want to talk to me and her latest reply was I bother her! Could it be that I suffocate her when I think that I am giving her lots of love and affection?
Not acceptable?Yes, It is ok to feel bad. Your baby is becoming a bit independent - which is a good thing. On the other hand you have devoted time and emotional energy to bring your child to this point in her life and now you feel left out because she needs you a bit less. Don't worry ! She will need you in different ways. Have a good cry by your self or with a good friend. Then, at the end of the day when you see your daughter, be happy and excited for her and her new adventures- ask lots of question. What was your favorit game? What did you have for lunch? Would you eat it again? Who sat next to you? Relaxe and enjoy.
