Your Valentine's menu sounds wonderful! I am still working on what I am making......haven't gotten farther than the appetizer yet and I am running out of time!
Sorry it took so long to get back to you but been so busy I hardly get around here these days. How have you been?
Hi Tahnisha! Thank you so much ! But as my mother said, only someone with a helicopter who could drop down, pick us all up, and transport us to a tropical island could help us now! The ice is melting today, with temps in the 40's, but we're supposed to have another storm approaching by tomorrow, hopefully with just snow. Meanwhile, my sister called me about an hour ago and her electric was out again...hopefully just shut down temporarily so they could repair other lines, like yesterday....otherwise, she and my parents will have to pack up again and come over here. And the maintenance men here, who used to work for the apartments I used to live in, pulled my car out today, so at least if I HAVE to get out and go, I can! They sawed up and piled all the broken trees and limbs here today, so it looks better. Anyway, thanks for thinking of us, keep us in your prayers, and I'll try to keep you and everyone else updated. I started a new topic under Current Events, check it out! Love ya!
Hi there! Thank you for your kind words! Fortunately for me, my car wasn't hurt, just stuck in the ice against a truck's tire!!! My youngest daughter's was totalled, my sister's was dented! Only my oldest daughter and sister have electricity, so I'm at my daughter's with her and the 2 kids, my parents are at my sister's, and my youngest daughter, her husband and 3yr. old are with their friends' parents. My parents have 2 freezers packed full, so I'm sure all that's spoiled by now. I managed to get most of my food and brought it over here a couple of days ago. Their freezers have thawed and leaked water all over their new laminate flooring, so now they figure that will be ruined and need redone! It's just a mess....and it's something new every day! I'll come on and post as often as I can, while I can! Meanwhile, you and yours stay warm and safe, and keep us in your prayers! We're supposed to get more snow in the next couple of days! Augghh!! ~Dee
HEY YOU!! i went to the Reading Terminal Market today.. the aromas just killed me... I could not decide what to buy so I ended up with a pound of cookies for my boys and a loaf of Honey,Fig and Pine Nut bread for myself!!! MMMMM Good!!! Denise
Oh I'm so glad you both talked. I deleted those notes. Sorry, I never noticed they weren't marked. I was so worried about you I never even looked. Yes, I read Dee's story. I told her to let me know if she needs anything. Hubby and I usually IM her and talk outside of Disney. So, I really hope they get her power on soon and that they all stay safe. Sounds like you may have a better weekend than week beginning! LOL, I hope so. Holler anytime. Hugs, Chelle
Mom Dad joined us that evening, but today my sister's power was back on, so they went over there...Dad's on oxygen and mostly bed-ridden, and the kids and I making noise was really getting on his nerves, and I was getting on my Mom's nerves. I found out my building is the only one in our complex without power now, and it will most likely be 7-10 days before they get to it, so I'm stuck here. Just a couple of hours ago our cable and internet got turned back on, so I thought I would grab the chance to come on and tell you guys what's going on. This town looks like a warzone, and there are over 40,000 homes and businesses still without power...there are even emergency shelters set up. It looks like it will take a LONG time for us to recover. My own family has a totaled car, a dented one, and probably will return home to frozen, busted water pipes, etc. This is NOT the snow I wanted! So, that's it! I hope all of you are warm, safe and loved! Be back when I can! ~Dee
Hi! I think I was telling you I was sorry I didn't make my other post private! I try not to put EVERYTHING on public display! Anyway, soon after I left the site, before I could start cooking our breakfast for supper meal, the electricity went off. I thought about waiting it out, but decided the kids shouldn't be without heat for long, so, as it was getting dark, we loaded up the car, took an hour to break off the 1" thick ice from the windows, and slowly made our way to my mother's across town. Tree limbs were already breaking from the weight of the ice and crashing to the ground. The street to my mother's was blocked by a huge hanging limb, unbroken as yet, and finally I dared to pass under it, turned the corner and a line was hanging down almost to the road...I braved that and got to Mom's finally! Next morning we awoke to no power there! Within a couple of hours I loaded up the kids, found that only their own apartment still had electric, and we've been here ever since.
I LIVE IN GA. I WOULD LOVE TO VIST PHILLY THAT IS A PLACE ON ME MY HUSBANS LIST.
