I know that I am probably a minority here, but I think that "our first lady", should dress like a lady especially when she is leaving the Air Force One, and she knows that she will be filmed and photographed. It is great that she wants to identify with every American woman, but I think she went too far. She has a responsiblity to dress up and show some class. I think that women want someone to look up to and to emulate, and her style was just too casual. It's like she doesn't take her responsibility as a role model seriously. Her husband holds an extremely high office, and she should look like she is part of this and not just another mom out with the kids.. I tell my kids that when you go somewhere special, you need to dress up for the occasion. When you look sloppy people lose their respect for you and don't take you seriously. I also realize that the weather was hot, but there are plenty of casual classy clothes that she could have worn walking around the Grand Canyon. I am sorry, but to me she looked like she was shopping at WalMarts. I hold her to higher standards then that.
