My son got his name as a compromise. His father was a third and didn't want a fourth. He was tired of my family tradition of family names and I didn't like any of his mother's suggestions. SO, we settled on the lead character of the movie of our first date and the middle name of my favorite uncle and a hyphenated last name. I got my long family name after all. And my son looks just like his daddy, so instead of the fourth, his family just calls him the clone.

My daughter was born on my grandmother's birthday, so her first name was a derivative of hers. Her second name, which is hyphenated to her first is my baby brother's middle name. her middle name was given because of the girl who went with me to the hospital. She was from New Zeland, and was not expecting to see what she saw. She passed out on the delivery room floor.
