Success. And for those saying "fail," who would have done a better job given the state of things when he took office?

1. Because government is never the answer. Look at any of the programs they run - from education to Social Security. It becomes bogged down in beauracracy and tries to spread too many benefits among too many people. Medicare and Medicaid themselves are struggling programs, and that's just for a limited number of Americans. Now they want to take on the entire nation?

2. When your family is facing a tough financial time, is your answer to go out and max out your credit card on unnecessary expenses? No rational person operates that way. Democrats never made a convincing argument as to why the American taxpayers had to shoulder the poor business skills of the automakers. The stiumulus funds that I have seen thus far are going to shortterm projects that fund subcontractors for a few weeks or months and then are done. That's not rebuilding an economy.

Our country cannot continue to purchase on credit. It's time for Americans to stop its love affair with consumption. Instead of taking this opportunity to lead our country into a smarter, wiser spending practice, Obama blew the country's budget out of the water.

Sorry, six months in, he IS a failure.

1. I don't understand why so many Americans are so terrified of something as potentially beneficial as universal healthcare. If a poor child can go to the doctor because of such a program, I think we all benefit.
2. I'm not fooled into thinking spending will turn around the economy over night but I do see things looking up, and I see major economists are starting to agree. I'd like to know, what alternative plans would have gotten us to this point? More tax cuts?

It's not about the state of the world on January 20, 2009, it's the ridiculous amount of government excess he has embarked on. Propping up failing companies, embarking on socialized medicine - he's spending money faster than he can print it.
