Waking up after a great night's sleep to a gorgeous sunny day with a bright blue sky and air so pure it's like breathing magic. Learning that unemployment is 0 percent and people are reporting their highest-levels of job, salary, and work-life balance satisfaction. All wars and conflicts have been resolved peacefully, with the time and lives saved now devoted to ending global warming, curing cancer, aiding the world's poor, keeping the arts in our schools, and developing a successful business model to save newspapers and bookstores. I bask in the news with a delicious cup of coffee and a pancake breakfast. As I wander through my home, I see that everything is sparkling, my closet is organized and fabulous apparel I've never seen before is hanging there. I step on the scale and discover I've lost eight pounds, and after my shower, my hair is soft, shiny and resembles Scarlet Johannsen's. I flip on the TV and catch a trailer for a lost George Cukor movie starring Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn and Jimmy Stewart that is already being hailed as even better than "The Philadelphia Story." Better still, my husband can't wait to go and has already bought us tickets to see it. We go to the movie, and return home to find a pizza delivery man waiting on our front porch with a stack of thin and crispy pizzas from Palermo's, my fave place that I had to leave behind when I moved from Chicago to L.A. They're all perfectly cooked, with bubbly cheese and extra sauce. I tell the driver to bring one to my parents' house (they're craving it too) and we dig in, leaving enough leftovers to eat in their perfect one-day-later form tomorrow. I bake cookies and we curl up on the couch, the smell of my thriving flower garden wafting in through the window. Just as we're about to bed down for the night, we remember -- our three-month long world tour starts tomorrow. All of our luggage is of course packed (and light) and we're flying first-class because -- as part of the new peace movement -- coach class has been eliminated and all planes offer high-end appointments at the old coach prices.
