Hate to admit it, but there has been times when I've felt like smacking A PARENT for their unruly child. Just this morning I watched a 4 yr. old totally run the show eventhough her mom, aunt & grandma were there. She was running all over the place, screaming at the top of her lungs, getting into everthing & totally ignoring the adults with her. And this was at a drs. office!!! (No, she was not the one who was their for the appt. it was her grandma)
I know partenting can be a tough job, but sometimes I wonder if some parents let kids raise themselves. I believe children need to be taught how to behave in all different situations. Not only for the comfort of others, but for their own safety. I saw a child nearly get a tray of hot food spilled on him, because he parents let him run around a restaurant. The waiter spilled the food all over the floor, fortunately missed the kid. Otherwise I'm sure the family would have sued the restaurant. Not right in my book. Parents have to teach their kids NOT ALL places are playgrounds.
While I agree with you for the most part, I still do not think anyone has the right to slap your child! Lecture the parent or try talking to the child yourself to see if you can calm them down. Sometimes they listen to strangers before they listen to their parents!
