Happy Easter Michelle, I hope you and your family have a blessed day on this joyous occasion. Man, I have had a week from h---! My 15 year old ran away last weekend and when we got him back home, ran again and told the police that my husband was abusing him. He doesn't want to live with us because we punish him when he makes poor choices. Like when he spent the weekend in juvie for smoking pot at school or stealing from Wal-Mart, lying, getting drunk at my sister's house, smoking cigs at school, skipping school, skipping Saturaday school. But we are to stricted on him. Well, we had him evaluated last night and now he is in at a mental and behavioral center. Man, I sure hope that he takes the help is going to receive. He is our 2nd son, and he is the oldest of the 3 boys we adopted. I don't know if you know that about me. My oldest two children, Heather who is 20 and Zack who is 17 are my natural children. Louie the 15 and his 1/2 brothers Carter 8 and Max 7 are my adopted sons.
Okay - the seafood marinade... In your food processor put 1/2 cup fresh lime juice, zest of one lime, 4 garlic cloves, about 1/2 finger's length of fresh ginger, 2 scallions, 2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil and salt and pepper to taste. Pour into a zip top bag and add your seafood. Let the seafood soak for about three or four hours in the fridge. Wow! You did great getting all those gives for $75! I'm impressed! If you haven't done it already, make sure you post that in Smart Money Moms (I haven't visited that groups yet today). That's terrific! Okay - I'm off to do some laundry, cooking and maybe read a little bit. I'm reading The Shack by Wm. Paul Young and am thoroughly enjoying it. :) Have a wonderful rest of the day! Hugs, Belle
Our weather has been overcast since Sunday, but today the weatherman reported that there's going to be "abundant sunshine." I'm dying for some hot days so I can bring my laptop outside and do my work on the deck. I love summer and everything about it! I'm not a winter person at all. I have no use for snow! I remember the years when it would do nothing but rain during the winter. That was quite alright with me! LOL We're waiting for the leaves to dry after the rain we've had. Then we'll get them raked up enough to start planning for May flowers. I love watching the land come to life. The crocuses are smiling at us now and any day the forsythia are going to explode in bursts of sunshine yellow! We grilled over the weekend - chicken breasts marinated in a blend of oil, garam masala (a sweet India spice), chopped scallions and minced garlic. Yummy! We also roasted red bell peppers and sweet potato. I love grilled food! Have you ever had grilled shrimp and scallops? (more to come)
You found some great solutions for JonJon! Good for you, Chelle! That nurf sword fight reminds me of a funny story. I've told you how I direct a handbell choir. I love all the ringers dearly, but if I could make one complaint, they never look up at their director! I sometimes have to frantically flail my arms to get them to stay on tempo. I told them one time that I wish I were Luke Skywalker so I could have a light saber that they could easily see out of the corner of their eyes. Well, to make a long story short, at the end of the year party, they presented me with a nerf sword painted fluorescent green, like a light saber. It glows in the dark! So at our next rehearsal the following September, when it was time to play, I shut off all the lights and started to direct with my glow-in-the-dark "light saber"! LOL (more to come)
Hello! I just wanted to stop by to say "hi" and to say that I'm sorry to hear about your dad being in the hospital! You and your family are in my prayers. Take care, and God bless!
Hi Chelle! I'm sorry for not writing sooner. It's been insane around here between a school auction on Saturday night and our Easter Cantata on Sunday. We've been rehearsing for about 15 hours per week and between rehearsals I've been dipping pretzels and creating cheese platters for the auction (which made about $10,000). I need a vacation! .... more to come....

Hey lady!! Long time no note - LOL How have you been? How are the munchkins? Hubby is away this week on business so I am sulking. It's pathetic how after all this time I still hate to be away from him :) Lilly is grumpy because of Dad not being here for bedtime. Just wanted to say "Hi" and let you know that I am thinking of you
