As a mother of four I can honestly say these all work wonderfully. If you have an older child, ask them to speak with the baby. Sometimes, when my daughter is upset, I ask my 4 yr old to talk with her.

Oh yes, is this familiar from my old single mother days. Don't worry I still have temper tantrums. I wouldn't be human if I didn't.

Yes, they understand so much. 13 years ago when my oldest two were 5 and 2 1/2 my 19 brother passed away. I had always told them the truth about his cancer.
