Sympathies on the whole Brittany thing. Our 6 yo daughter is not allowed to have Bratz because of the make-up, attitude, etc. Barbie is a semi-grown-up:) We've also drawn a very clear distinction between real life people and what they wear vs. media people like Brit, et al and what they wear/do/say. I really like Mandy Moore and Hilary Duff as opposed to the Brit Lohan crowd. And also, our daughter knows she can't get married for real until she's done with college, has been on her own for a little, and has a job. "Boyfriends" are just pretend til maybe 8th grade, probably high school - parental jury will convene in 7 years on THAT one! Good luck.
Hi-The "Girls Gone Wild" post is so very true! I have two girls, pre-teen and teen. The selection of what mainstream department stores offer for clothing is so trashy most of the time. I am not a prude and have an relaxed fashion sense and I am completely put off. Don't even get me started on the media. Just wanted to say thanks for speaking out.
