I think you are a very cool mom--whether it's cell phones, TVs in the room, short skirts, or drugs--our kids have lots of input from lots of friends throughout life. We are the only MOMs they have--it's our job to be "uncool" and...

I love Sabrina's "nesting" fascination--you have a budding artist, designer or architect on your hands. My daughter, 7, loves paint swatches and has a little collection of favorite colors and she likes watching HGTV with me on...

Amen! I truly believe that gratitude is transformational and while I've had my share of "worst dinner ever" moments, we've also had a few wonderful ones and those have always followed when we've taken time to pray before dinner.

Thank you for reminding me that my kids need their little retreats just as much as I need mine! I'm going to try this idea with my 2 1/2 year old whose suddenly become, shall we say, "very opinionated" and prone to losing it.
