dhoneybunny, thanks for the apple and peanut butter breakfast suggestion. I've had those as snacks, but I didn't even think about how great it'd be for breakfast. That would be very do-able and enjoyable.

Kids put it all into perspective. Sometimes you just gotta look for the little things that can make us laugh. Kids seem to be born with that instinct - we just seem to lose it as we grow up.

Ever have one of those days? I was baking a cake for my son's 1st birthday from scratch. The ingredients needed to be at room temperature. I checked the sour cream to see if it was warm enough yet and the measuring cup slipped. Sour cream squirted up like an erupting volcano. Sigh. Then I put the butter into the microwave to re-melt what was solidifying. I put it in for 2 seconds too long. 3..2..POP!..1..ding. It's raining butter in my microwave. *CRY* As I sat on the floor willing myself not to cry, my baby came up and looked at me right in the eye. Then he started to finger my hair and looked at it very oddly. Finally he glanced at my shoulder and started laughing. I was covered in sour cream. What was left to do? I laughed along with him and went to the bakery for a cake. It's nice to be reminded that sometimes you just have to laugh at the world. Thanks, Son!
