Tonight I'm making hawaiian burgers ... just like islands!
5 burger buns, sweetened with honey (they sell them this way if you look for them)
5 frozen beef patties
1 can pinapple rings
11/2 cup teriyaki sauce
5 slices fresh jack cheese (not the processed slices, I firmly believe those are gross)
1/4 onion, sliced into strips (i don't like them in rings)
We skip the lettuce and tomato
!/2 cup mayo
grill burgers on the outdoor grill, basting from time to time with teriyaki
grill pinapple rings, also basting with teriyaki, on a top rack, not in direct heat. (you may grill in direct heat, but flip them carefully, watch for burning) The goal is dark carmel colored grill marks, not black ones.
Burger assembly: top bun, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, teriyaki, pinapple ring, beef patty, bottom bun
grilled veggies are nice with this, but we eat tater tots!!! popped into the oven we're ready to eat in 20 minutes!
