Have you ever flipped through The Herbfarm Cookbook, by Jerry Traunfeld? I cannot recommend it enough - and I think it is one that you would really enjoy. The recipes come from the menus at the Herbfarm Restaurant and Jerry Traunfeld is the head chef. He is very passionate about his food, and he describes each recipe in a way that you can almost taste it and you can't wait to run to the kitchen and start cooking! Plus, unlike many fine dining cookbooks, the recipes are really easy to make at home and oh so good! This is the book I turn to for most of my dinner parties and special occasions. Plus he provides great charts on which herbs go well with each other and other spices, which compliments which foods, and even one for using them in desserts, and there's a whole section about how to grow them at home. I really enjoy your writing and am frequently inspired by the recipes you post - if I could return the favor by recommending an amazing book, I'd be very happy! -Cheryl
Hi Catherine- So glad to see that your writing and blog continue on FamilyFun. I was so sad to see Wondertime close - it was by far the best parenting magazine out there, and you were a big part of that. Are you working on another book (hopefully)? Mary Ellen

Wow, okay, so my avitar now has much prettier hair than I do. What does that say about me? I am going to grow it out and start stringing it with daisies. I'll let you know how it goes.
Dear Catherine, My name is Kaleena Cote and I'm a book editor at The Globe Pequot Press in Guilford, CT. One of our authors, Kathryn Lynard Soper, has a memoir coming out next March called THE YEAR MY SON AND I WERE BORN: A STORY OF DOWN SYNDROME, MOTHERHOOD, AND SELF-DISCOVERY. She would be absolutely thrilled to have you review it and write a blurb for the cover and/or the card plate. You can find a brief write-up of the book on Amazon, although a cover image is not yet available. Please let me know if I can send you a galley and, if so, please give me the mailing address you'd like it to be sent to. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to respond to this message and I hope I'll be able to tell Kathryn you'll be delighted to review her manuscript (even if it's a section of it). Best wishes, Kaleena Cote kaleena.cote@globepequot.com 246 Goose Lane Guilford, CT 06437 (203) 458-4592 www.globepequot.com
I hope Disney realizes how many magazine subscriptions you bring them and pays you accordingly! I have subscribed to both Family Fun and Wondertime because of you. I have been reading your journals and blogs since early in "Bringing up Ben". I've always just been a lurker, but wanted to let you know "YOU ROCK!"
You are my soul mate, perhaps not. Are you still reading. Thank you for what you do. It makes me feel like there is some unknown ally in my somewhat cooky world. You see the mudane tasks of parenting through a kelidoscope like me. I read " waiting for Birdy" wating for baby D and our styles are very similiar. I would be and honored ass kisser if you would check out my blog @ momneedsadrink.blogspot.com If not I will still remain your silent stalker. You give me faith at one day getting published just for being what I am, as unstable as that seems some days.
Your writings speak volumes in my "mommy world". Your insights are spot on, your willingness to share your children and your thoughts is a precious gift. Thanks for the inspiation to Mother in the here and now, with true intent and purpose!
Catherine, I just wanted to tell you that I (we) are still reading your blog and loving every single installment, even if this website cannot or will not allow us to post comments.
Thank you for your wonderful blog. I started reading your column with the Wondertime debut. I live in the Asparagus Captial of the World, so it was a great surprise to find out that you are right next door! Small world....
