What's Great in '08 Wii Games

February 21, 2008

Our family LOVES the Wii! My husband and I are not gamers, but we really like playing with the boys (17, 5, & 2). We can't wait for Wii Fit!

Parent Moments: Can I Help?

January 30, 2008

My kids view my "chores" as a way to spend time w/ mommy. I need to look past the fact MY chores take four times longer when they "help". Laundry is a two-day affair from sorting dirty to putting clean away. I remind myself I'm teaching life long habits & lessons - don't ever wash something red w/ something white or daddy might be wearing pink underwear! I generally enjoy cooking with my boys. Despite the flour now covering our brown dog (next chore - give dog a bath while boys play in water), we now have plenty of pictures of messy faces from licking the beaters or spoons. Plus the pride in their faces when someone enjoys their creation and the confidence to ask mom the following day "can I help" again! Hopefully one day they will invite me to their ####-n-span house for a home cooked meal. As for now, 30 minutes alone might get me a much needed rejuvenating nap while listening to something other than Wiggles music.
