Tangled Bookmark
Rapunzel uses her hair for just about everything. Now you can use her hair to hold your place in your favorite book!

Instructions:
- Print the bookmark on regular paper or cardstock and cut it out.
- Measure embroidery thread to desired length, and cut several strands. We recommend using three variations of yellow and gold to best resemble the highlights in Rapunzel's hair.
- Put all strands of embroidery thread together and tie a knot at one end – the knot should be no larger than the bright yellow circle on the tower window. Tape knot to a flat, stable surface and style the hair tassel any way you'd like. We braided Rapunzel's hair loosely at the top and tighter toward the bottom. Tie another knot at the bottom when finished.
- Cut out bright yellow circle in tower window with a craft knife and insert styled hair tassel so that the knot goes through to the back of the bookmark – if your knot does not fit, make the hole larger to accommodate it.
- Secure the hair tassel by taping the loose fringe of Rapunzel's hair to the back of the bookmark.

I made these for my daughter's Tangled birthday party. They were easy to make and a useful addition to the girls favor bags. I also included a copy of the junior novelization.

I'm thinking of making some for my girls. An idea I had was to print another tower (doesn't match) or colored paper and glue it to the back after securing the "hair".

Instead of using embroidery thread for the bookmarks, I used yellow rick-rack. I liked the wavy look of the rick-rack and found it easy for the kids at my daughter's 6th birthday party to use. I was able to make 12 bookmarks using only one package of the rick-rack, which cost $1.12. I made the hole on the bookmark using a standard size hole punch. The rick-rack slides right through and is taped onto the back of the bookmark to secure. Finally, I found that it helped to put a little tape on the loose end of the rick-rack to prevent it from fraying.
