Throw a Belle Birthday Party

Cogsworth Cupcake

If your little princess loves Beauty and the Beast, plan a Belle birthday bash with these sweet ideas. From the cute Cogsworth Cupcakes (pictured right) to a Chip the Teacup favor and party game -- plus an easy-to-make replica of Belle's crown for the guest of honor -- these simple projects promise to make the birthday girl the Belle of the ball!

The Invitations

Belle Paper Dolls: These adorable printable dolls can double as personalized party invitations. Just print them out and write your details on the back with a gold or silver Sharpie. Scrawl the guest's name across Belle's gown, send the invitations off flat in large yellow envelopes (found at paper stores), and tell the guest to present the invitation at your door so that you may announce her royal presence. Make a party activity of assembling the dolls with a little help from the grown-ups and use them as place cards.

What to Serve

Strawberry Rose Shortcakes: Meant to resemble the red rose signaling the Beast's fate, these sweet cakes work well as party treats, as each girl can make her own. A bit more detailed, Cogsworth Cupcakes are better made in advance. Set them out on each plate and they double as table decorations. Recall Mrs. Potts and Chip by serving tea (or lemonade, if preferred) from pink and white teapots served in yellow and white cups.

Decorations, Favors & Games

Tissue Tube Candelabrum: With a nod to the Beast's faithful servant, Lumiere, this cute craft makes the perfect table topper. Set the scene in provincial France with bouquets of lavendar set out in jelly jars and mismatched floral napkins and tablecloths layered with crocheted place mats and pillows. Place Chip the Teacup favors on all but one seat for a game of musical chairs, removing another favor with each round -- for re-distribution later, of course! Present the winner with a set of Enchanted Spoons and Spatulas.

For the Birthday Girl

Belle's Crown: Easily constructed from golden felt and a cloth-covered headband, the ultimate royal accessory adds a special touch to your child's day. Watch Becoming Belle, a how-to video in which experts at Disneyland show you how easy it is to bring the magic home. If there are enough grown-ups attending your event, set out make-up, hair accessories and jewelry kits to give each and every guest the royal treatment.
