Remember, your child is an inquisitive person who likes to explore and, like bees to honey, finds dangerous stuff in an instant. It's important to be the parent and keep an eye on your child at all times. Social calls to friends especially those without children should probably be kept to a minimum in situations when your child is in tow. If your friend has invited the child over, make sure they realize that your child may try to wander around their house and to prepare in advance for this. If they have a pool that is not child-safe, make sure the doors to the back yard are locked and your child cannot get outside. Whenever possible, have your friends come visit you at your house. That way you and your child know where they can go and what they can play with.
