My story about: When Your Toddler Resists Sleep

Mayrose38's story

April 01, 2008

I have a small one bedroom apartment and have had a one bedroom apartment since my ex and I seperated over a year ago. We have a 2 year old son - and his dad lives about 5 blocks away.

I have always had a bedtime routine with Thomas and his bedtime is usually 8:30 - beforehand we tell a story - have a drink of milk - he brushes his teeth and I read or sing. Well last night - come midnight I was still chasing him around my very dark apartment. Finally I called his father and he went over to his father's and went right to sleep. I got frustrated with my son 3 times last night where he started to cry - because I honestly did not know what to do next.

He sleeps (or doesn't sleep anymore) in a playpen because we share a one bedroom (No I don't sleep in the same room when he is over - I sleep in the living room) Well lately he can get out of his play plen and whenI try to keep putting him back and saying "good night" he just crawls out and i am scared he is going to hurt himself. Any positive suggestions would surely be great.
