My story about: When Your Toddler Resists Sleep

xmasljb's story

March 14, 2008

I've tried that Super Nanny technique to no avail. I've been trying to get my oldest son to sleep in his own bed for so long that I'm now half resigned to the fact that he will be 21 before that happens. I spent almost all of last year trying. I even made him stand or sit up in our room hoping that he would get so tired and go back to his bed but he outlasted me. At 6:30 in the morning I gave in. On 3 separate occasions he's slept in his bed THROUGH THE NIGHT for 3 nights straight. On the 4th night it's as if a switch is flicked and he's back to his old self. He'll sleep for two hours and then he wakes up. The weird thing is that when he first falls asleep, he is out like a light.
