My daughter's favorite book when she was very young was Love You Forever by Robert N. Munsch. We would read it almost every night before she went to sleep in a rocking chair that was in her room. I would rock her back and forth at the same time when the story said that the mother would rock her child back and forth. She would sometimes ask questions about each picture and wonder what was going on in the story. I always wondered if she was paying attention to the story or to me telling the story. I got my answer one day when I found her in her room rocking in the rocking chair saying "back and forth, back and forth" just like we do when I read the story to her.
