The mirror tells no lies.
Almost 30 years ago, my little angel was cutting his first top and bottom teeth. He was also learning to kiss.
One fairytale day he'd just happily awoken from a nap. As I was walking around the house cuddling my cute, blond California child, he decided to kiss me. He leaned over and planted one on my upper left cheekbone (accuracy was not his strong suit at this stage). Along with the kiss came a 4-tooth bite. I reeled back and glared at him. He was laughing.
I ran to the mirror still holding him, and saw a perfect red circle now emblazoned on my cheekbone...forever more. I melted.
Now everytime I look in the mirror, my son's kiss looks back at me.
