Soccer Basics
Any team sport is a great team sport but soccer provides so much healthy exercise for kids it really can't be beat. Smaller kids in the 4-6 year old category don't usually play soccer as a competitive sport with win/losses. But don't be surprised if your little Pele is scoring himself -- kids learn competition early on. As for cost, you are looking at the team fee which usually includes a shirt, socks, and shorts. Then you need to provide shoes, shin guards, and a ball. Also be prepared for team pictures, at least one week to provide snacks, pitching in for a team banner, and the end of the season party. At the end of the day, you will probably be out around $200. However, your child will be learning team building skills, exercising, making friends, and so much more.
